My brain is an interesting place. I am a very unfocused, yet somehow productive, guy. For instance, I might be involved in a project that is EARTH SHATTERINGLY important. And during the course of that project, I might find some little cool trick or idea that I just have to try. So I do. Then my project gets a little slowed down. Then I think “Hey, this would work great in [OTHER PROJECT].” Then I go try it there. It can take several hours to come full circle and get back to project one.

My brain likes video games, but only in intense multiple hour blocks.

My brain wants electronics. It’s insatiable for clicking on things, LEDs, weird gizmos, etc. It just won’t settle down about that stuff.

I have these weird moments where I just stare off. I catch myself doing it (I’m sure everyone does, but I’m special, so I”m going to tell you about it). This isn’t like at work, where you lean back and stare off on purpose. This is like when you are walking to the mail box, then you notice that you aren’t actually walking, but are instead standing there staring off. Usually when I catch myself doing it, I was just thinking about business, inventions, physics, or sometimes pizza. It’s pretty weird. Sometimes when I do it, I clench my hands. My brain just stops my locomotion I guess, as it realizes how very little I am paying attention to what I’m doing.

When I’m not at work, I have trouble getting work done. God forbid I have to bring work home - then I just have pretend I’m at work. When I do consulting work, I have to set hours, and deadlines, and make rules. Cannot function without the structure.
