If you receive an e-mail that looks like it comes from your bank, or a financial service that you use, and it says something to the effect of : “We are concerned about security, so we need to confirm your password. Click here to confirm your password.”

Don’t do that. This is actually a deception being run by third parties to try to gather your login information. The link you click might look like it goes to your bank/financial institution, but it doesn’t. It goes to some knuckleheads website, and they are trying to steal your identity.

No bank or financial institution will ever e-mail you requesting your password or login information.

And remember, change your passwords every month or so — just to be safe.
