A little better update here. Pretty much, I lost a hard drive on the server. It was a crappy old hard drive that I had put in place after I lost the last hard drive. The Ellis family is on a budget, so just buying hard drives every month isn’t a great plan. I thought the one I put in there would last a while, but that evidently wasn’t the case.
SO, I bought a 250 gig replacement drive. Financially, that is a bit of an owchie, but I’m glad to have a new, known-good drive in the box.
I’ll be slowly restoring bits and pieces of functionality as time drags on. Bear with me.
Also, I’m leaving the mail server down for a while. This means that all my e-mail accounts at smithellis.com will be bouncing mail. Maybe I can scare off the spammers if I let it linger in limbo for a while.
